Higher levels of lipoprotein(a) drive increasing risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) in otherwise healthy individuals regardless of sex and race/ethnicity. This study aimed to evaluate whether this is also true for recurrent ASCVD.
In a primary care setting, a novel 12-week plant-based nutrition intervention for type 2 diabetes was accessible, economically viable, and led to reductions in diabetes medications, body weight, HbA1c, and total and LDL cholesterol levels.
Our study showed that poultry consumption above 300 g/week is associated with a statistically significant increased mortality risk both from all causes and from GCs. The risk is higher for men than for women.
